World Water Day 2026

🗓️ On 22nd of March we celebrate World Water Day, a chance to reflect every year on one of our most precious resources: #water 💧

🤝 From the EU-funded SOLLAGUA – Interreg Sudoe, BOOST-IN eu, CIRSEAU, R3VOLUTION Project and REWAISE EU project, we want to join the celebration of this important day by following this year’s United Nations invitation to foster #genderequality with some stats:

♒ In 53 countries with available data, women and girls spend 250 million hours per day on water collection – over three times more than men and boys.

đźš° Globally, more than 1 billion women – more than a quarter of all women (27.1%) – lack access to safely managed drinking water services.

đź“˘ About 14% of countries still have no mechanisms to ensure women can participate equally in water-related decision-making and water management.

Let’s make a more #circular and #equal water cycle for all.
