R3VOLUTION project holds 4th General Assembly: A Day of Innovation, Collaboration, and Forward Momentum
The R3VOLUTION consortium held its 4th General Assembly, gathering partners from across Europe for a full day of technical presentations, strategic discussions, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Hosted online, the meeting brought together experts in hard tech, digital innovation, and industrial case studies to review progress and align on the project’s next steps.
The morning opened with a dynamic pitch session on technologies, featuring cutting-edge developments central to R3VOLUTION’s mission such as nanocellulose membranes, functionalized membranes, ceramic membranes for membrane distillation and waste heat recovery solutions. Each partner delivered concise presentations showcasing advancements, challenges, and upcoming milestones. Together, the pitches highlighted promising progress toward more efficient, sustainable separation and recovery technologies.
The second pitch session shifted focus to the project’s digital dimension, with four partners presenting new modeling and analytical tools designed to enhance industrial decision-making: Process modelling & calibration, machine learning models, system risk management and digital twin development.
These presentations underscored the strong integration between physical technologies and digital intelligence within R3VOLUTION. The consortium continues to develop robust digital frameworks that enable real-time optimization, predictive performance, and system-wide risk evaluation.
Industry Case Studies: Real-World Impact Across Sectors
Several consortium partners presented updates from the sector-specific case studies, demonstrating how R3VOLUTION technologies perform in real industrial settings. Each case study was followed by Q&A, fostering productive discussions around implementation, scalability, and sector-specific challenges. These sessions provided tangible insights into how the project’s solutions can support major industrial transitions across Europe.
To complement the technical and case-study insights, two analyses about market assessment and techno-economic-environmental evaluations were presented. These contributions help ensure that innovations developed within R3VOLUTION are not only technologically robust but also economically viable and environmentally impactful.
After the lunch break, the consortium turned to internal progress updates from different work packages.
Looking Ahead: Next Steps for the Consortium
The meeting concluded with a discussion of next steps and closing remarks from all partners. Emphasis was placed on continued collaboration, data sharing, and preparation for upcoming milestones.
The 4th General Assembly highlighted the impressive momentum of the R3VOLUTION project. With strong progress in both technological development and real-world application, the consortium is well positioned to deliver transformative impact on industrial sustainability in the future.
